Gujarat government increases dearness allowance by 3% Good news for state government employees: 3 percent increase in dearness allowance There is good news for state government employees and pensioners. Under the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the state government has announced a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance. Now, 53 percent dearness allowance has been approved from July 1, 2024.
This decision will benefit 4.45 lakh employees of state service and panchayat service and 4.63 lakh pensioners. Along with this, the difference in dearness allowance available from July 2024 to November 2024 will be paid with the salary of December 2024.
Who will get this benefit?
- State government employees: Those whose provident fund is under the control of the state government.
- Educational and non-educational staff: Employees working in secondary and higher secondary schools and aided-aided non-government schools.
- Primary Teachers: As well as Panchayat Service employees who have received the benefit of salary revision as per the 7th Pay Commission.
Rules for payment of allowance:
The increase in dearness allowance has been made based on the fundamental policies of the State Government. The expenditure incurred from this benefit will be sanctioned regularly, within the limits of the grant of the concerned schools and institutions.
Purpose of Dearness Allowance:
Dearness Allowance is a financial assistance, which is given to the employees for effective control of inflation. This amount is updated every six months on the basis of Consumer Price Index.
This decision brings financial relief to the employees and pensioners and marks the commitment of the State Government.
